About The Author

Geraldine Aquino spent her career as a hospital laboratory medical technologist and a clinical research scientist in the pharmaceutical field, but her most important title has always been Leo’s sister. A lifelong New Jersey resident, she wrote and illustrated this book to honor the life of her brother, the love of her life, and to share his radiant spirit with children everywhere. Through Leo’s story, she hopes young readers will understand just how special individuals with Down syndrome are and the unconditional love they bring into the world.
